Now recognized as the #1 Stratego site on the Internet! |
A
MESSAGE FROM ED COLLINS
Hi
Gang, I've created a monster!
Ed Collins |
Contributors:
A BIG THANK YOU to both of the above
contributors.
A special thanks to... ...Dave Conn of East Tawas,
Michigan. Dave was a neighborhood chum who lived around
the corner from me when I was growing up in East Tawas,
about thirty five years ago. Dave was a couple of years older
than I, and it was he who taught me how to play Stratego.
I still have fond memories of playing the game with him
in a small shed in his backyard, using his wood
pieces! ...everyone who has written to me
concerning this site. I owe a debt of gratitude to all of
you for your comments,
tips, photographs, rule variations,
piece setups, praise, etc. You
have helped to make this the #1 Stratego site on the
Internet! Ed Collins |
As
many of you are probably aware, I took a long break from
maintaining and updating this site. Sorry. Before today,
I did not update this site at all for a period of
slightly more than six months. I simply did not have the
inclination to do so. I was burned out and needed a
break. I do wish to thank all of you for all of the warm comments, tips, piece setups, rule variations, etc., you sent me during the past year. I wish I could answer and post all of these. Unfortunately, I receive so many e-mails regarding this site, I simply do not have the time to do so. I hope I can maintain the site on a more timely basis in 2003. Note: I've added two new sections:
The Message Board contains new sections (Section 5 and Section 6) with many of the more interesting questions and comments I've received throughout the year. Enjoy. Ed Collins |
I succeeded. Last year I promised myself I would try to update and maintain this site in a more timely manner and I was able to do so. Hopefully I can do the same again this year. I want to again thank everyone for your comments and praise regarding this site. I wish I had time to answer every e-mail I receive, but I continue to receive so many I simply do not have the time to reply to each one. I do, however, read each one, and I would like to thank everyone in advance for writing. I hope everyone has a great 2004.

Here it is... 2005
already. Another year has come and gone. |
2006 now... Again, thanks for all of the wonderful e-mails you've sent me throughout the past year. Ed's Stratego Site is still #1.
|
And now it's
2007... |
And here it is, 2008. Another whole year gone by. The site's been up for more than seven years! Thanks to everyone for the wonderful e-mails from all over the world.

Well, after more than 11
years of downtime, this site is back up. Back in January of 2011, I was asked by JUMBO to not link to some of the sites where you could play Stratego online. It seems that JUMBO was in the process of creating their own online play site where you could play Stratego... and they didn't want any competition. Rather than comply and remove those links, I decided to take the entire site down completely. If I couldn't link to all Stratego sites, I'd rather not have the site up at all. Well, apparently their online site didn't work out. It is no longer valid. (And probably hasn't been valid for years.) So until I hear differently, until they put together another online playing site (assuming they have plans to do so), I assume promoting their game, which is what this website does, should be fine with them. After 11 years, I suspect many of my links to other pages and sites are no longer valid. I'll be removing them as I find them, most likely over the next week or two. Thanks.
